You should have added a survey to your question. It's a good one and a survey would make the responses more visible

Good morning, CPT Durish, sir.

You are correct. Here's a link to an article on this subject.

Thank you.

Cpl Kevin Henderson - Why didn't you lead with this link? Your question was directed at RP members and I stick by my assertion that it would be interesting to see our responses in a clear representation. If, on the other hand, you want our responses to this story, lead with that. On that hand, I will say that I have lost all faith in polls. I had my suspicions prior to 2016, but the election of that year proved that propagandists are using polls (and their shills in the news media are providing an assist) to lead popular opinion rather than reflect it.

Now that President Trump's new tax reform plan is in effect, do you think you'll fare better or worse than last year?

Good morning.

CPT Jack Durish made an excellent suggestion.

Here's an article on how people feel about the new tax laws.

My wife and I already saw an increase in each of our checks throughout the year, so the taxes will just be a bonus.

I'll most likely be paying out of pocket this year, or receive far less than last year. So worse. It's the removal of many of the deductions that did it. Sure, my wife saw a few extra bucks in each of her paychecks, that wont be nearly enough to offset the lack of returns.

But the standard deduction went up a lot and the nominal tax rate went down, unless you really make a lot. I'll have 6 grand in travel expenses this year, but the standard deduction will still be more than I would have had last year with the same travel expenses. This year will be the first time in years that I'll actually get back more than a few bucks.
