"No job for you!" Why Not?

So I went to a Korean resteraunt, not to order food, rather for the dish washer job advertised in the window. Was told, "No Job For You! You Go Joe! You No Come Back!"

When asked why,... He (the owner) is still mad at America and Americans over the Korean War. He lost father in that war. Understood, but if he hates America and Americans...WHY did he ever come to USA and start a business? (End of rant).
Thoughts?

If that's true it's discrimination and illegal. Inform the owner of that and if he still cops an attitude, call your local newspaper or Fox News affiliate and let them know what's going on, put the dude on blast!

Good question. I worked with former German soldiers in Chicago in the 1960's with the same attitudes. When I tried to speak German to them they acted as if I had spit in their faces. Yet they were here.

One younger German, who had been a child during the war, told me about going to the basements during our bombing raids. He said that they would sit backs to the wall with their heads between their legs and their arms over their heads. After the raid was over, occasionally some would be dead but with no obvious wounds - their insides had been jellied by the shock waves that concentrated in their location. He was one of my best friends there, and seemed not to hold any resentment towards us - and he would help me with my German.

My landlady at the time had fled the Russians and made it to American lines and eventual resettlement here.

I always wondered about how they must have felt living here. Perhaps like I would have felt living in Germany had we lost the war.

If he did not hire you because you were an American, then he is discriminating. Perhaps a good lawyer would change his attitude.

I disagree with suing him, but that's just because it seems to be the American way these days. But I definitely like the idea of getting him on TV!! Local news channel would probably eat this story up.
