Some had satellite TV thru Arab Sat (based in Saudi) and Nile Sat (based in Egypt), two of the biggest ones. You could get CNN International and BBC World News, along with numerous Arab news channels and soccer 24/7. Nile Sat had a lot of American movies and some older TV shows, like Knight Rider. Arab Sat was more conservative.

That was in 2011. I'm sure it's changed some now. The telecom industry was really ramping up there when i left.

Not sure about newspapers.Response by PO1 Brian Austin made Jul 16 at 2016 3:52 PM2016-07-16T15:52:29-04:002016-07-16T15:52:29-04:00CSM Charles Hayden1723356

SPC Jenna Bisenius Is their news, tv and Internet access controlled/ limited by the government?Response by CSM Charles Hayden made Jul 16 at 2016 6:20 PM2016-07-16T18:20:35-04:002016-07-16T18:20:35-04:00SPC Craig Keller1724424

I know Al Jazeera and Al Sharqiya are two.Response by SPC Craig Keller made Jul 17 at 2016 1:40 AM2016-07-17T01:40:22-04:002016-07-17T01:40:22-04:00SFC Pete Kain1726497

Not sure I care, Hell here in the good ole U.S.A. we can't agree on a reliable source.Response by SFC Pete Kain made Jul 17 at 2016 10:51 PM2016-07-17T22:51:25-04:002016-07-17T22:51:25-04:002016-07-16T15:06:52-04:00
