New Uniform Policy

So I just wanted to see what everyones take is on the new uniform policies since from what I saw in the Army Times they have been approved.

The Army is CHANGE and the uniform will continue to evolve every time the Army fights in a different place. This is a good thing. I have personally worn five different class C uniforms during my career.

Looks like Sec. McHugh signed it yesterday and sent a memo stating such to all GO's. Might still be a few weeks until the rest of the Army sees the updated AR 670-1. I'm most interested to see how it pertains to off-duty life. At one point, there was talk about clothing and grooming standards for off-duty off-post, like making sure you shave even on leave.

Army secretary approves new grooming, uniform regs

Army Secretary John McHugh on Thursday approved a long-awaited revision to grooming and uniform regulations, according to an Army statement.

Just curious about all the changes now. They put out a list a while back, but i'm anxious to see to what extent.

I guess we will see in the next few weeks. I think we will begin to see the enforcements being brought back that many of our previous generation members used to tell us about in their old war stories. It's all about getting back to a standard and enforcing that standard.

I think the DoD is concentrating on the wrong things, grooming standards are important, but there are so many other things they should spend money on developing.
