An all-new Star Trek series is set to premier in January 2017. I haven't been able to find out anything concerning the plot or characters but needless to say I'm excited.

The new show will be on CBS.

New Star Trek Series Premieres January 2017

CBS Television Studios announced today it will launch a totally new Star Trek television series in January 2017. The new series will blast off with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively in the United States on CBS All Access, the Network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service.

Well the excitenis tempered by having to pay for CBS's "Hulu" to watch it. Only the pilot will be broadcast. Also likely to be in the reboot universe which opens a lot of possibility and pitfalls. Open mind, closed wallet on this one.

Wow! That's great news! I only wish I would be able to see it without having to get a new subscription to CBS All Accesss. Oh, well. Any word on who will be starring, or what the premise of the new incarnation will be? Another Enterprise? In the future of Next Generation, or in the past from it? Any Cardassian and/or Romulan Starfleet Officers?

Wish I could get excited about it. Only being on the CBS All Access really is a bummer
