SGT David Hardee 4896354

I have an idea for a charity that could benefit potentially every veteran and military member. Before I take the plunge and start it, I am curious to know how many Veterans or Military members would be willing to participate. I call it Virtual Goods for Veterans.

The premise is that a website would be created where Veterans or Military log in and can get virtual goods. The virtual goods (pretty much anything of value that can be transmitted across the internet or stored in digital format) would be donated by virtual good creators such as software developers, musicians, artists, writers, etc..., and for each good they donate the organization would provide a receipt of donated goods. Traditional monetary donations would be used for operating costs of the website, to hire individuals for outreach to virtual good creators, and potentially to purchase virtual goods to be delivered to individuals who have made a special request. The website would likely be very similar to humblebundle.

I am still very early in the creation process, and I know that I would really like this to be an organization by veterans for veterans and military. If no veterans are willing to participate then there is no reason to start. It would likely be set up as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) . Let me know what you think, if you would be willing to participate as a Veteran or Service member, or if you would want to be a part of an organization like this. I really think this would be a way to give a small thank you to as many Veterans as possible for possibly very little cost. New idea for a charity I call Virtual Goods for Veterans. Sgt S. to answer your question related to the site I would need someone who is experienced on back end connections and website security. I have been working on getting over some health issues before I start in earnest. Relative to the other veteran organizations, I would likely learn a lot more about what is out there, and then work on promoting beneficial organizations and information about the less beneficial ones as much as possible. I've been meaning to write up a basic tutorial on how to check the official forms and how to read them to see if the money is actually going to the target beneficiaries.

Thanks to those who participated, and I would still love to hear feedback from anyone who happens to stumble across this.
