Navy uniform in the back row of this Clinton Rally: Isn't this a violation of DoD Policy?

Thought the picture was bigger, 2nd completely visible person, top row, to the right of Secretary Clinton's hip. Noticed a female Navy LT in uniform at a Clinton Rally. First saw it in the final episode of Showtimes The Circus.

It is. Unfortunately those running for office and their staff don't look out for the best interests of the service members who support them. But what's good for the goose... we also can't tolerate such behavior at events for the candidates we like either.

Actually there are a number of possible answers that don't include it being illegal. She could have been acting under orders as a PUblic Affairs type, or she could have been assigned as a naval advisor. But let's be honest here it really doesn't matter because Trump name dropped a half dozen Generals and had them seen with him in uniform. Heck we have had multiple incidents of this type of thing for years. At least she isn't at a training command and recording herself sitting through colors for Facebook.

Me being me why is she covered indoors? We weren't allowed unless under arms, so why should she be covered? Sorry I have to plead to being very ignorant on regulations that never impacted my world.

If she is there in an official capacity, so be it. A picture like this, is not any evidence of what she is doing there. There needs to be more info as to why she was there. Her command will know either way.

So this is what bothers me about the UCMJ there are so many if this is like this then this is allowed you are not allowed under the UCMJ to openly show support or use the uniform to influence support of a politicle manor however if on duty in some compacity its ok as long as its not support.... for instance while home on leave i was asked by my recruiter to accompany him to schools and to a rally where students were to watch the mayor speak we were in uniform as public relations and allowed to keep our covers on in both cases indoors

There is no telling why she is there. As a medic assigned to WRAMC before it was WRNNMC I and others were assigned to go various events in uniform

We don't have enough information to pass judgement or even have an opinion on the matter. The officer could have been there on official duty. We don't know, and shouldn't just assume.

I think it is way too soon that there is political motivation with her being there. Need more information before it is determined whether or not she violated the UCMJ. My initial thought is that someone directed her to stand there.

Being in the backgeound is not an endorsement and is not a violation of any codes of UCMJ. Doing a endorsement in uniform is a violation. Attending a rally in uniform is not punishable.

This is obviously a violation of DoD policy. Even were the LT in question assigned duty with a former Secretary, there is no reason for said service member to appear on stage during a rally. That obviates any question of duty assignment and brings back to the fore the question of appearance of endorsement.
