What is the process to reclassify from AD 19D to NG 11B? What should I expect in such a unit?

Coming out of active duty in March of next year, and already have my unit information and such when it comes to the Guard and such. Haven't made contact due to the amount of time between now and then, so I'm reaching out here to see what others have to say. Anything helps, and I appreciate all that ya'll provide.

What's the process of the reclass, and what should I expect in such a unit? Will I be going to Ft. Moore and joining an ongoing OSUT class, or is there a separate program/location I'll be attending? I'm guessing I'll be on active pay during the process, so should I expect to be getting BAH/BAS for my wife and child? Should I reach out to my unit and try and get ahead of the curve in preparation for their training style and such?

In the Guard as a 19D, you will probably do a 3 week 11B Reclass course. The one I am familiar with was at Ft. Pickett, but I'm an old timer and the locations may have changed. Talk to the Guard recruiter, he can get you the current status.

I believe NG mos reclass is 2wks. As for what to expect you know already. Expect change, and a LOT depends on your state and the unit you select, and where they are in their life cycle. In TX we have airborne infantry elements so that is always an option.
