My wife’s COC is trying to kick her out of barracks. Is there a regulation for that?

Can my wife’s chain of command kick her out the barracks even though neither of us are receiving BAH and she doesn’t have a place to stay? She’s also pregnant, is there a regulation we should look up?

Why not tell RP the entire situation before you ask for solutions? If you are military, why is that not reflected on your profile?

You said you're married …. did you notify DEERS? Have you done a 5960 to update your BAH? Have you looked for an apartment? Why would her CoC continue to allow a married Soldier to live in the barracks? Yes, there is a grace period after getting married. There is no ETP I've even seen that allows children in the barracks. Both of you should have started planning where to live before you got married.

I think Maj. Garbarini said it all. You and your wife have some personal responsibility here. We do no not have the entire picture. Where are the two of you stationed and what paperwork did you submit.

The regulation is, apply for BAH. She can’t be in the barracks as a pregnant Soldier, she needs to apply for BAH and on post housing.

um, you are married, she is pregnant, and both of you are still in the barracks? did you two get married yesterday?? And yes, the COC can. Apply for BAH, which you should have done the next duty day you were available. Copy of marriage certificate, and the forms to apply for BAH, and BAS. An appointment with the housing office, and looking into the lending closet for essential items (like a bed, pots pans and dished etc etc.). Seems to me you dropped the ball on this one, because I think the CoC gave her a time frame in order to vacate the barracks, which is for single Soldiers.

Little bit of further advice, I am not aware what rank she is, but I can tell you sincere honesty, make an appointment with the family center, you are definitely going to need assistance, Like WIC, and other social assistance programs, better to get all this set up prior to the baby being born, and then finding out you need help afterwards, as these things take some time to process. Be as proactive as you can, mission allowing, to get as many ducks in a row as you can now, before it effects things later on down the line.

Welcome to life brosef. No married people live in the barracks. Geobat if you or wife were not on same post, but yeah. I went to Baghdad married and came back the 3rd wheel. I had geobats for a few months then i got the boot and my ass was homeless in the army. Do the paperwork and apply for base housing.

Yes they can. And the reason is not complicated. She is pregnant. That alone is enough to kick her out. Now you bring up the fact you two are married. Why are you two NOT drawing BAH? That should have been like stop #2. The two of you could have been living in your own place rather than the barracks and both drawing BAH, and with a child on the way, soon to be drawing BAH with dependants. Not to mention all the other support you get when married etc.

Look you both are married, in the eyes of the law and the military- you should be taking care of yourselves. Why haven't either one of you applied for BAH?. She's pregnant- not 1SG/CO would want to touch that with a 10' pole, cause as long as she is in the barracks, they are responsible for her. Have you two done anything at all to get squared away?

Why didn't you look up regulations before getting married? The unit gives people so much time after getting married to find a place, apply for BAH, etc, before kicking them out.

Even if you weren't married - she's pregnant. Pregnant soldiers don't live in the barracks for too long once they find out. One time I had a CPL roommate when I was a SGT who was pregnant but she was getting out on chapter for it. So she wasn't there that long.
