My wife is in basic and I saw the deposit from DFAS. How come I see no BAH?

If she's an E1 she gets reduced pay for the first 4 months, plus a bunch of other deductions for up front costs.

Okay, I could be incorrect here, but if she is in basic, she is being quartered. So I don't believe she is eligible for BAH. Of course that is different if there are dependents involved. You could go to your finance officer and get the skinny on whether she is eligible or not.

She's in basic, she has housing. BAH comes with her first duty station. You are not with your spouse.

As an E3 during BCT, I had the same worries but it came in my second payment not the first.

After reading the comment I’ll clarify from my own experience. My home of record was on a military base while in BCT. I had 2 dependents and I received my BAH in my second issued payment. Just wait for the next check. It’s very inconvenient but it should be there on the next one.
