Depends on my mood. Sometimes something heavy and violent will calm me (as twisted as that sounds). Sometimes a little Sinatra, and other times a little Beethoven or Mozart. And then there are times when some Celtic music will do the trick

As someone else stated, it varies depending on my mood. I like metal when I am working out, as it tends to keep me pumped and motivated. Other times I prefer rock, or even country. I even enjoy the occasional Rap, but cannot listen to it for long.

Depends on what I need the music for.

Relaxing - country , and as Gunnery Sergeant Ekblad stated... you will not find American Idol country in my car or on my phone
Motivation - Hatebreed, 5FDP, Pantera - anything that's going to kick me in the pants
Driving - ZZ Top, Van Halen - lots of guitars always works on an open road, just watch the speed.
Fishing / working in the garage - Classic Rock radio

Depends on what my mood is at the time. I like good country music like Hal Ketchum and Zac Brown Band. '80's rock and pop for doing chores and puttering inbthe garage. Hawaii slack key guitar music for when I need to relax.

My first choice would be rock & roll from the 50's and 60's - you know "That old time rock-n-roll, the music that soothes your soul"
Some good acoustic bluegrass like Ralph Stanley, followed by some guitar thumb pickers like Merle Travis and Chet Atkins.
Then some Old Country like Hank Williams Sr.

I'm definitely a fan of the genre popularly referred to as Classic Rock. Calling it this usually casts a wider net then I think it should, but oh well. I call it good rock. It has spirit, soul, and individuality.

Rock is meaningful and rebellious. Or just plain fun. I listen to and appreciate a lot of forms of music, but nothing gets my heart pumping in the morning like Back in Black.

It is completely situational! If I am angry I will likely turn up some Five Finger Death Punch or other hard roick, if I am in an odd kind of off beat mood I will throw in something along the lines of Limp Bizkit. Sad I will listen to some country or rock that fits the situation, when I had a grandfather pass, I was listening to a lot of Tantric. It usually doesn't matter what genre just what rings true to my situation!

Being a musician, trumpet player, I like all kinds of music. It all depends on my mood. I love playing my trumpet to everything from Barry White, Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, to Chicago, which is my favorite. It is a great stress reliever for me. But I do not do heavy metal or punk music. I love the 50s & 60s like Ricky Nelson, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and of course the King, Elvis. I even get into the Boston Pops and I really enjoy Michael Buble. One of the best thrills I ever had was in Hyannis MA when I had a chance to sit in and play with Buddy Rich and his band in 1971.

I listen to just about everything except jazz/blues and the new rap. I do like some of the older rap stuff. What I listen to depends on my mood and what I am doing. If I am walking I try to listen to stuff that is fast beat.

I like a variety of music but I like listening to Motown hits like the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, the Four Tops, and Aretha Franklin. I actually grew up on that type of music.

That depends on my mood and what I'm doing at the moment.

If I'm at work, then I'm usually listening to 80s music or maybe today's top hits keeping in my that most of my patients are elderly (I work in orthopedics).

If I'm chilling out at home, then I'm usually listening to this play list on my Slacker app called Spa, which contains music that you would expect in a spa.

If I'm in the gym doing my cardio workout, then it's pop and techno for that beat the keeps me going until I get to the cool down, then it's spa type music to the end.

If I'm in the gym and doing my weights, then it has to be heavy metal to keep that adrenalin going so I can get a Marine workout vice an Air Force one. ;-)

Growing up in the 80s...of course, I have to say "hair metal"

now I also like Disturbed, Device, Evanescence, Classical (yes, me, classical...go figure), Slayer, Led Zepplin, Areosmith (back when they were on drugs, in the 70s) some gansta rap...just a hodge podge of tunage...but I refuse to listen to "country". growing up, my mom would listen to REAL country...Pasty, Hank, Willy, Waylon etc...not this new crap....
