That transition period was an eyesore but we all learned to get use to it. I expect much of the same especially since the clothing and sales will have them at different times across the country. But now, we're facing three (+) different uniforms in our formations. Even with the switch to ACUs, some leaders had an issue. I'm curious to see if some teams will try and fight it. There is going to be essentially three sides to this. One will be the stubborn ones with current ACUs who won't spend the money until they have to. The second group will be the front runners with the new Scorpion pattern. And the last group, guys who deployed to OEF and received Multicams and will want to rock them for the next four years. He is also setting the example by aligning the purchase with when he received his own clothing allowance.

If you want everyone to use the new stuff, then wear the new stuff. Some may follow. Maybe not even mention it or try a different tack: Ask you troops to get at least one of the new uniforms but stress that there is no requirement for them to do so. Sometimes just asking works. You will, just like always, have commands (CSMs), that will pressure there troops to "look more professional by getting on board ASAP with the new pattern" as it was with the ASUs and the cycle will continue. I do like the fact that the SMA has come out and stated that an undue burden should not be placed on the troops at least he is different than his predecessor in looking out for the troops, but we or rather ya'll will see.
