I worked with them quite a bit when I was in Mosul in 2005.
These barbarians will only be defeated when the locals decide enough is enough and rise up against them. Just like last time. When they do, they will need outside assistance. Until they do, we give them an excuse for their inaction by making grandiose statements about "destroying ISIS" and delivering mere pinpricks.
My opinion is that this will need to play out quite a bit before the time will be right to make a move. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 12 Aug 2015 12:48:34 -0400 2015-08-12T12:48:34-04:00 Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Sep 16 at 2015 2:06 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/militants-execute-300-civil-servants-from-iraqi-electoral-commission-when-is-enough-enough?n=970188&urlhash=970188

The dynamics are different from AQI as ISIS has an organization that is probably 30,000+ and is capable of defeating the Iraqi Army in any given battle.
