PO3 John Jeter235050<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Let me say first, Ray Rice was wrong, Period! However, consider this; Mr. Rice lost his temper and slugged his wife. Now he's lost a promising career and endorsement deals, worth millions of dollars. Is this a one time incident or does he have a history of anger issues? We don't know. However the NFL has already suspended him indefinitely. Now Michael Vick; tortures helpless animals for "sport", repeatedly. Is convicted and sentenced in court and a few years later, not only is he playing football again, he's petitioned the court for permission to own a dog.... Somehow it just seems lopsided. What's the message from the NFL here?Michael Vick vs Ray Rice. Equal Justice?2014-09-09T23:32:04-04:00PO3 John Jeter235050<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Let me say first, Ray Rice was wrong, Period! Rice was caught on video; Vick was not. Everything brought up about Vick was just word of mouth but Rice was seen repeatedly on video knocking his now wife out cold with a closed fist. It is much easier for the NFL to say they didn't know about what Vick actually did. The NFL cannot however ignore the video of Rice. So they moved quickly to separate themselves from Rice.Response by SGT Ben Keen made Sep 10 at 2014 8:49 AM2014-09-10T08:49:59-04:002014-09-10T08:49:59-04:00Sgt Jay Jones1044663<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>PO3 John Jeter I don't think it so much a message from the NFL as much as it is a message from society. <br /><br />There seems to be a unbalanced value of an animals life over the life of human being. Granted Ray Rices' wife is still alive and living with her husband, by choice. However, the animals were tortured and died. <br /><br />I cannot understand or accept that an animals life is of more value than any human being.<br /><br />Regarding the Dentist who shot Cecil the lion. I do not support hunting for sport, I do support hunting for food. That being said, if Cecil would have survived I guarantee you we would be talking about a lion who killed and probably ate a human being.Response by Sgt Jay Jones made Oct 16 at 2015 10:14 AM2015-10-16T10:14:27-04:002015-10-16T10:14:27-04:00PO3 Rick Lewis7274607<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is lopsided. He should never be allowed to own a dog or another kind of pet! And he never should have been allowed to return to football! Is this the kind of role model we want our kids to be watching? I for one don't think so! I turn the game off if he's playing.Response by PO3 Rick Lewis made Sep 16 at 2021 1:52 PM2021-09-16T13:52:51-04:002021-09-16T13:52:51-04:002014-09-09T23:32:04-04:00
