It's mostly politics... the VA was broke when Obama got there, he hasn't managed to fix it. That said, he's done a lot to try to help the VA... he just hasn't done enough. I think a C- would be a more reasonable grade.

I disagree, lets look at what the VA does compared to other government agencies. Funerals, Nursing Homes, Health Care facilities, Medical Research, Mental Health Research, Education, Substance Abuse Programs, TBI facilities, Back to the Federal Gov for Disasters, Spinal Cord research, PTSD research, Homeless Vet Programs, Vet Centers, Readjustment counseling, Psychology, Psychiatry and God knows what else stretched from Puerto Rico to Guam and Philippines (yes there is a clinic in the Philippines and all 50 states. You tell me of another Health care system that large that has to put up with never ending changes, that has that many accredit facilities not just to Joint Commission Standard but to the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities? Can Kaiser, HCA or Tenet do that? The answer is no.

In my opinion, it's simply politics. He's in campaign mode, and he's trying to elbow out the other conservatives for the veteran votes. I would expect any politician in the opposing party to be highly critical of the President, and especially during the primary season. That's the nature of our political system.

The government, in my opinion, does not give a shit about veterans. The VA is in a failing grade for taking care of veterans and the current administration allows criminals with in the VA to continue to work despite falsely acquiring bonuses for wait lists. How incompetent can one organization be? The government's standards for moral and ethical issues are very low and yet service members are grilled and crucified for offense.

The VA is broken, the only way to fix it is to take the bureaucrats out of the equation. The people in charge of the VA from top to bottom should BE veterans who understand the needs of a Vet, and can also filter out the BS. Anyone found disrespecting a Vet or his family should be fired on the spot! Vets on the other hand have to be respectful as well, in a medical environment, remember there may be someone in more need of care than you, stop trying to push your way in by using the I'm a Veteran I deserve respect, Noo, you earn respect!

Do you give a surgeon a F if he saves a life, but amputates a limb? The VA is in such a crapped situation; it is hard to ever say it will be a A. It was ignored for far too long.... and it will be underfunded year after year, and still get an F.
