Interesting dramatic series. It doesn't quite give you a feeling for the scope of the project . . . sheer numbers of people . . . and massive scale of critical mines, reactors, chemical, power, gas diffusion, and calutron plants . . . and all spread across multiple campuses throughout the country. The trickiness of the experimental work . . . and while math was very important . . . the ability to perform simulations to determine experiment outcome was limited. You can read many good books about the Manhattan Project . . . but don't expect to learn about the actual history from this series. Ulam's Adventures of a Mathematician was far better. Shanley's Women of Manhattan is also quite good. Rhodes' The Making of the Atomic Bomb is rather good. Baggot's The First War of Physics and the Secret History of the Atom Bomb 1939 -1949 is also rather good. Warmest Regards, Sandy

p.s. Anyone notice how many women were running the controls of the calutron isotope separation plant? I honestly don't know if I could since I can't keep picking up more and more shows to watch. I already watch way too much TV with just the four shows I watch now. Maybe when it comes out on DVD and I can quickly go through each episode. Definitely looks very interesting from a historical aspect.
