I have to wonder how it came about that he admitted to concealing it? Or if he did. If I were him, I'd make them prove that I ever had concealed it, come my day in court. WI has "free" open carry. I hope the DA drops the charges, though. Only reasonable thing to do, as far as I can see. That's his fault. Pure and simple. If he can order it online, then he can take a moment and Google "Wisconsin Taser Laws" and pull up the EXACT law he would need to know about. He could then Google "Wisconsin Concealed Carry Laws" and learn how to get a CCW permit.

That does NOT mean I agree with those laws. That being said - there is a very common phrase that EVERYONE should know: " Ignorantia juris non excusat" or to translate/paraphrase: "Ignorance of the law does not excuse you from the law"...

If that were the case, a murder could get away with murder simply by stating that he didn't know that it was against the law to kill someone.

So, unfortunately, while I disagree with the law Wisconsin has on carrying a concealed Taser, it is the law, and must be followed, and him being charged is what must happen. Ideally, what will happen, is his attorney will get him off on a misdemeanor charge, and he has learned a valuable lesson.
