Louisiana Police Officer Murdered Today. Too bad his death does not meet the media sensationalism requirements. Where is the outrage?

No police have rioted or looted over this incident. It is just business as usual for our police officers. The media loves to generate headlines by exploitation of a perceived atmosphere of constant racism and police brutality. Where is the outrage and non-stop media reporting? Did this even make the national news circuit? Well I know about it, and I want to bring it to everyone's attention. Am I missing something and only see the world thru rose colored glasses ? Does it become more newsworthy if we simply change the color of someone's skin? Am I alone in feeling this way?
RIP Officer. End of Watch.

Because, SFC Mark Merino, cops and those who support them realize that burning down our own homes and cities is a pretty dumb-ass thing to do...

And we don't think that the death of a Police Officer justifies breaking into the local Best Buy and stealing a 70' LED 3D TV.

First, my condolences to the Officer. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his.
Second, the employed very rarely riot.
Third, no one riots for a Policeman, white, black or otherwise.
Fourth, we have no control over what the media deems newsworthy. They control the color.

It does not meet the media criteria to stir up emotions and hate. I heard this in the radio twice today and that is it. It's sad that when a protector of the citizens is gunned down thinking to help a stranded motorist gets no attention. But a women commits suicide inside of jail and it's national news.

This was a numb, emotionless murder, without motivation for the specific victim. As unfortunate as reality is, in this case, Louisiana Senior Trooper Steven Vincent's life only matters to his family, friends and co-workers. There will be no interuption of candidates speeches, no marches, no protesting....seems as though some lives just do not matter....we are a confused and ignorant group to allow this in our country!

SFC, you're not missing anything. I saw it on my local news and on Fox news online. It's a damn shame and my heart goes out to the family of the police officer. But I'm going to give a big BZ and attaboy to the man that came and took him down knowing this fool had a weapon and was willing to give it all to assist the cop and call for assistance. For every dumba** there are still some good people in this country.

It was all over the news here. This is horrific.

That said, riots and outrage are a symptom of powerlessness. Police are not powerless and we are utterly confident that the perpetrator will feel the full weight of the law. There is no similar expectation if it's a cop that shoots you.

You can bet that a million law enforcement officers in this country ARE outraged. I am. Once again, my life is diminished by the senseless death of an officer doing his duty, in this case, trying to help someone he thought was motorist in need of assistance. And now he is dead. Yes, I am outraged.
