I am a team leader in a light Cavalry Mountaineering Troop, and I am interested in starting at 3-61 CAV. Best thing to do it talk to a recruiter. There are so many variables that will determine this - In/Out calls for the MOS, Overall MOS strength, etc. You may have to give up a rank - I was a SGT and came back on AD as a SPC with no TIG, almost a start over but wasn't too bad. As far as the unit, they will have to have a valid REQ published with HRC matching the MOS/Grade, and "Station of Choice" would be the enlistment option, so if there is another unit that has a REQ open, you may get the Duty Station, but not the specific unit....

Good Luck.
