As long as you stay out of trouble you will stay promotable. You'll get promoted when you get enough points or the point drop low enough for you to be promoted.

You will as long as you don't reach your retention point prior to getting promoted.

YES THERE IS!!! Or there well be. The Army is making it to where you have to complete the corresponding school for the rank you are. Meaning you have to go to ALC to get promoted to Staff Sergeant. And if you don't go to ALC within 18 months you loose your promotable status. Go on AKO and go to the enlisted promotions link. Search for something called STEP (Select. Train.Educate.Promote) or Google it. Also if your PT card expires you loose your promotable status.

Holy shit are you kidding me? The fact that you have to resort to asking people online baffles me and makes me wonder how a board of senior leadership recommended you in the first place. Reference it in the AR 600-8-19 for Christ sake.
