Lets hear some of your opinions on the most recent EPA oops moment in Colorado.

The EPA recently spilled over 3 Million gallons of water from a gold mine in Colorado into the Animas river, giving it a mustardy hue and releasing TOXIC heavy metals into the water. The didn't contact state officials nor did they publicly announce the spill until a good amount of time had passed. This will most certainly damage the ecosystem and drinking water for the area. How does this happen with such stringent regulatory guidance is imposed.... BY THE EPA!

Depending on the age of the mine contamination could include mercury and arsenic. BTW I am studying to be an economic geologist.

With an aggressive EPA, this was the exception rather than the norm. With the current gutting of the EPA and the rolling back of regulations......we will likely see much more of this sort of thing in the coming years.
