SSgt Scott Schwerman 767522

I am very interested in lat moving to this as it has been what I wanted as a MOS prior to enlisting. I am just curious as if anyone can give more further insight for the whole week long screening process? Also, I am not confident that I will be able to obtain a top secret clearance. Is there a waiver for this or is it all or nothing? I was also told by someone that is Navy EOD to reach out the the local EOD unit to try to get an endorsement from them prior to the screening to help speed my process along or to get a foot further in the door. Any truth or information on this? I can understand uncertainty... But you need to be confident. Also, have you talked to your career jammer (planner), Intel and local EOD yet? If not I would. My old Intel Chief was a CONVICTED FELON (Grand Theft Auto). They don't actually care what you did, they just don't want you lying about it. Yes, there are disqualifiers, but let them do it, not you.

One of my Snipers lat-moved to EOD (from 03xx). He said he enjoyed the hell out of it. We're going to look through your SRB first before we even look at anything else. They will just be able to answer questions you may have and give you a little more info into what the field is like. If you are unsure about obtaining a clearance you can talk to your 2 shop to see if you are eligible or not. The clearance is a must and without it you will Not be able to lat move to EOD.
