NCOs they can not punish a Soldier unless it is on paper (4856) or has to be fitting of the crime, correct? So what should the punishment be for blatant disregard to rank or refusal to the sweep the floor. We can not do like the 80's or 90's and flat out just smoke them any more, we can not even have them do push ups or flutter kicks without it being called hazing. If we could we would have different Army. And it all starts at Basic Training, Drill Sergeants hands I believe have been tied to a degree. Please correct me if I am wrong. I see way to many Soldiers coming from Basic and AIT, out of shape and no dicipline. Now not all are like this, But I believe we need to instill the past Military, work on todays Military, before we worry about the Future of the Military. At the rate we are going the Military in some aspects are going to be an oversized Boys/Girls Scout Troop.

Is Leadership the same today as it was 15 years ago? They are the same generation that was taught they could call 911 if their parents punished them and took their video games away, and the parents stopped disciplining and teaching their children how to be proper and respectful for fear of being accused and charged with abuse by the PC element so they didn't and now we have the result of what has transpired and exasperated more and more over the last 20 years with "no child left behind" and don't punish your kids mentality.

Hope that gives you a good idea of where the problem lies and how the Army and all the services had become, that is why you have now current AF NCOs licking POW/MIA symbols, NG Soldiers posing gangster style around a flag draped coffin, Soldiers hiding in their cars during Retreat, and NCOs saying we should give up our pay and benefits to help with the economy, they are part of the generation that doesn't know what true and real sacrifice and duty to country is, just gimme mine and I don't care about the rest or what my predecessors did to give me what I now have for my future career and my family of today.
SFC James Baber Fri, 28 Feb 2014 19:44:36 -0500 2014-02-28T19:44:36-05:00 Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 28 at 2014 8:01 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/kinder-gentlier-army-is-the-military-going-the-way-it-should?n=66950&urlhash=66950

Some of these ideas are so bad that pretty soon every leader will have to have Malpractice Insurance. A nice Army. So that is like asking the enemy if they are ready in the battlefield. ha SSgt Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 28 Feb 2014 20:01:37 -0500 2014-02-28T20:01:37-05:00 2014-02-28T18:34:13-05:00
