I am a Veteran. A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political views. It is an honor to serve one's country, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.

In some places the public seem to have forgotten the fact that we serve our country voluntarily and they simply no longer care, that's my motivation to continue to serve my country

Well, for the first 35 years or so the government gave me a blank check in return - and that was all it was worth. I have had ever increasing very good and excellent medical service since then. The VBA, however, is mired in years of disingenuous policy and procedure that it needs a way to get around. We are working on that in our little group. While there are a bunch of unfortunates working at the VA, there are a lot more good, hard-working folks, including a lot of veterans, who get equally tired of being lumped into the professional schlumps image that the whole VA gets. There is much wrong, which means there is a lot we need to help correct. I was angry for a lotta years - time to get past that and figure out how to make positive contributions to the process. I guess that is what happens when you become one of the odler guys on the block.
