Some may say it's a "religion" therefore they can't be discriminated against. They are tagged as a "Hybrid Gang". Regardless of the adjective used its still a gang and has no place in the Armed Forces. That's my opinion, but who knows these days.

I'd like to say this is surprising but that would be a lie. Anyone, seemingly, can file a grievance for almost anything and get a lawyer and tie up the courts. This is a common tactic to gain attention and support for some organizations. There seems to be almost no bar too low for us to go under these days.

Although I don't agree with someone being denied enlistment because of tattoos or taste (or lack thereof) in music, this is a classic example of a bad decision coming back to bite you in the ass. Involvement with the ICP to the extent that you get permanent body markings shows a lack of good judgement that I would personally not want behind me when I was clearing a building or in a firefight.

As far as the lawsuit goes, it's a sham and a waste of the taxpayers money. If the Army has made a decision that they are not going to take the individuals, then they are not going to take them.

Funny, the FBI classified Juggalos as a gang as early as 2012. Had an interesting run in with one on The Garrison I commanded. Started with simple questions in a field interview and ended with assault on a police officer and the Juggalo losing his job.

If a soldier does his job well, doesn't advocate violence, doesn't have any tattoos that violate policy or use their face paint while on duty... why would anyone care if they were a Juggalo?

Yeah, living here in Detroilet we see our share of juggle idiots. Here they aren't viewed as a gang but rather as just a bunch of morons. Down south however it's a different story. The jugglos are indeed more gang like and are involved in numerous shootings and drug sales.

In absolutely "NO" way do I advocate anything these guys do and I see their music as mostly pandering to the mentally ill, but I honestly don't see any cause in labeling these guys as a gang: unless their advocating violence and telling their fans to commit crimes. I see this situation as a farce.
It's seemingly a plot to a humorous movie: this just seems like reality imitating art.

Middle son was a fan of theirs for a brief time, thank gawd, when he was 12-13ish..always thought their music sucked, but I guess that is what almost all parents think of their kids music unless you raise them right lol!!

The thing is, ICP isn't the only music group that has nicknames for fans. Slipknot has maggots and Kiss had Kiss Army. Both of those bands have people with criminal records and such, but ICP gets a worse rap (no pun intended) because of the type of music it is. Its discrimination in the same way the military discriminated against gays for the longest time. I have friends who still listen to ICP and are good hardworking people with factory jobs just trying to get through life.

So who are you to judge these recruits/members for what they like to listen to at home? We should be recruiting with background checks and going off past criminal records, if they are clean then let them in. I myself listen to ICP from time to time because its different and interesting to me. Does that mean I'm gonna go rob somebody? No. The crew of my craft rely on me, and I always come through for them. No lapses of judgement here.
