Job Interview Question: What would the person who likes you least in the world say about you? 2015-07-18T09:31:50-04:00 2015-07-18T09:31:50-04:00 COL Vincent Stoneking 824526

I have used that question ("What's your biggest weakness, considering what you know of this job?") as well as "What would your biggest detractor say about you?"

Both are excellent questions that get right to both someone's self-image as well as their social awareness.

For added points, it requires them to explain HOW they deal with needing to make corrections in how they perform.

Totally separately, they result in some great answers that .... shorten my decision-making process. Examples: "I don't like working with/for women" and "I don't like people telling me what to do." Okie, Dokie. For me I guess it would be the fact that it takes a while for me to trust people to complete certain tasks and that I tend to micromanage in certain aspects. Being the Alpha leader that I am, I've been working on this ever since I was a Squad Leader. I've always wanted to get ins the mix and get my hands dirty side by side with my Soldiers and it always came off as being a micro manager. Now as a Field Grade Warrant Officer, I can hand off jobs easier but I still provide much oversight and I tend to troubleshoot a lot. Is it wrong that I want things done right the first time?
