Webb would be a far better democrat candidate than any of the others on that side of the ticket. It seems that democrats are seeing vulnerability in Clinton and are starting to act on it. Webb would be a far better president than Sanders or Clinton should the democrats win. I am glad he jumped in, it will make the democrat debates far more interesting.

I'm a fan of him as a person, but I don't know enough of his policies to decide whether I'd vote for him; I find it unlikely, however, that I would vote for him over Sanders in a primary, but he'd definitely get my vote in the general if he makes it that far.

Attending the Marine Corps Officer Basic School shortly after leaving Annapolis, he graduated first in his class. He was promoted to first lieutenant in the second half of his tour in Vietnam. He served as a platoon commander with Delta Company, 1st Battalion 5th Marines."

I like the guy, but I'm not sure he can go the distance. From the Washington Post this morning:

"Jim Webb is not ready for prime-time. The one-term Virginia senator announced his presidential candidacy yesterday with a surprise, 2,000-word posting on his web site. site soon crashed and stayed down for more than an hour. According to Facebook data, 49,000 people generated 81,000 interactions (likes, posts, comments, shares) related to the Webb announcement yesterday. That’s slightly better than Lincoln Chafee, to give you an idea, but less buzzy than George Pataki. On the front page of today’s Post, Rachel Weiner catalogs why this “often prickly iconoclast” is extremely unlikely to materialize as a credible Democratic challenger to Hillary Clinton:

“Many of his positions place him squarely to the right of his Democratic rivals. He has accused fellow Democrats of using low-income white men as a “whipping post” and argued against broad affirmative action and diversity programs. Just this month, he defended those who retain fondness for the Confederate flag. He opposes any increase in income taxes while supporting capital gains tax increases. He was critical of Obamacare, though he voted for it. He advocates for gun rights and against coal plant regulations.”
He’s already experienced staff turmoil, “with two top advisers leaving his campaign in Iowa, the only state where he has an operation.”
His political action committee has also “come under scrutiny for paying out $90,000 to his wife and daughter for Web site design and management.”

Anybody that can potentially take votes away from Hillary I'm all for it.

It blows my mind how anybody in their right mind can support the criminal Hillary Clinton. If any single one of us did what she did (send classified email form a private server) we would be in Ft Leavenworth.

Seems like a nice guy with a good background. Certainly better than many running. Unfortunately at this point I would not vote for a Democrat (even if you paid me to do so). I just don't think this nation can afford another Democrat. Just look at the state of this nation.
