"Jane Wayne Day" Does your unit do this as well and if not would you like to?

Today my unit hosted a spouse day with all the fun. Our spouses fired two different weapons systems and threw training hand grenades. There was also a static display of some equipment and food for all to have.

We had Seabee days but i dont belive spouse could fire weapons or throw training grenades. But that sounds like fun. Seabee days is probably the equivalent there are static displays of our equipment and gear. I never had a unit do that, but since my wife loves to go to the range and shoot with me, I'm pretty sure she'd love it.

I've never heard it called "Jane Wayne Day." The 82nd does spouse day right, though! She got great riser burns that day, now we just need to get them out of the aircraft!

In 1992, we allowed the wives to shoot the 25mm on our Bradley after table VIII quals were completed. I think it was more fun to be a dependent back in the day.

Never heard of this, but it sounds like an excellent idea!

My only concern would be liability issues, but I'm sure the JAG could draft up something to handle that end of things.
