As an adult, they’re my kids. I don’t get to spend as much time as I’d like with them, but they’ve been with me throu a residency, a doctorate, 3 moves, 2 deployments, and welcoming my first (and now second) human kids into the world.<br />I don’t know I can really answer the question; the emotions are hard to put into words.
