It has been estimated that it will take in excess of over 100 billion dollars to rebuild Iraq. Who do you all think should pay for it?

So far no one is offering to foot the bill. The United States has told the Iraqis it won’t pay for a massive reconstruction drive.

In my opinion, the last step of a conflict should include assisting a local populace rebuild in an image that we influence. It should suit their needs while creating a state that is conducive to further US interest. Not in a weird world domination way, but in a way that validates the sacrifice made in the first place.

SSgt Harvey "Skip" Porter Well WMD was BS (I'm sure that the Bush Admin was well of aware of that, I did My Part to Make sure Saddam didn't replenish after Desert Storm) Saddam working with Al-Qaeda was BS (I'm Sure Bush Knew that Also). Bush Jr was just trying to get back at Saddam for the Contract that Saddam Put on His Daddy following Desert Storm (Like Anyone was Ever going to Collect) During the Iran, Iraq War Saddam was our Man on the Sly and Yes He had CIA Contacts from his days on the lam in Egypt. I would say We are Morally Responsible. Now if We Accept Fiscal Responsibility is a whole nother matter.

They can rebuild their own infrastructure...start pumping oil to pay for it. We have enough problems in our own infrastructure that we need to fix.

We should, end of story. We dropped bombs tore up roads with our tracks and dismantled their defenses which opened up a road for ISIS to stroll in. Our military has always accomplished its mission, but politically these wars have been failures.

I'll see if I can dig up my aerial photos of Iraq, it would be better to just abandon the places and rebuild new sites that actually have functional utility systems. That's standing septic waste water in Sader city. It's a wonder cholera and other dieses wasn't more an issue.

Iraq is doing fine on it's own at attracting investment and with rebuilding. Why do they need help? We have zeroed out a lot of their past debt that was incurred under Saddam Hussien with his weapon purchases as well as invested tens of billions of U.S. Taxpayer money already into the country. So we have helped them considerably already..........including over a Trillion on the war to liberate them from a bozo regime they should have been able to overthrow.
