How do you feel about religion.

Why are people sensitive about religion.

God bless everyone.

I'm confused as well. Are you suggesting it's okay for a member of ISIS to be on RP if he/she were ex-military??

No ISIS should not but the odds are there are Vets that sympathize. I am pointing out that militant Atheist are the same as Islamic Fascist. As anyone forcing their beliefs into the heads of others rather covert or overtly are disrespecting others. Discussion of religion doesn't qualify as force unless you seek to exclude. I want those who disagree to speak unless they have sworn to silence others.

I have found it impossible to have a discussion with Atheists once they know I am Christian and am too set in my faith to be shaken. At that point they belittle me for not having an open mind, insult my intelligence and take off in a huff. ISIS would choose to send me to my maker or try abuse and torture to convert to their faith. They kidnap kids to force conversions. Its an ugly group that uses religion to justify their hatreds. You have to ask what side of good and evil they are really serving.

PO3 Sherry Thornburg yes at least with an atheist I get the big bang theory or apes... They don't want to behead me. I can't compare one to another. Either way, religion is a freedom we have that is protected by the constitution. That's often misread as I don't have the right to practice if someone doesn't like it. I don't think atheist have a church. Anyway, just my two cents and rant. Lol

SGT (Join to see) the last time i looked there was no religious requirement of any type to be on RP. Keeping someone off RP for a religious reason would be just as bad. Having said that I am not sure that ISIS membership is a religious movement and not just membership in a terrorist group.

Infidels are okay to ISIS because they will force you to say you believe. Harder to convert those who already believe. Stand for something or fall for anything.

religion and the free exercise thereof are the cornerstone of all basic freedom. The personal actions of an individual can be traced back to his value system. That value system can then be traced back to a specific religious upbringing (more often than not anyway). So by allowing all to believe as they wish so long as it does not violate the law or anyone else's freedom to believe differently, then freedom of action is ensured.

As Christians we are given "free will" so our actions are our own. I never push anything on anyone. I am aware that many Christians are too zealous and we have to rein them in one by one. Don't PUSH anything on any one....

This is a People problem not a religion problem. People take into their own hands things that make other people stereotype what they did with what they claimed they were doing it for. This has nothing to do with the claim as much as it does the person who claimed the reason.

There is good and bad in all PEOPLE... They choose to act either good or bad. It's not the religions fault that caused them to be bad, they made that decision for themselves.

NOW, that being said... are the some Groups that should be eliminated from the planet... such as ISIS? YES, but it's because they are filled with EVIL people doing BAD things; not because they are Muslim or Islamic. They just happen to be either of those. We should just MOAB "Massive Ordnance Air Blast" Blanket Party everywhere they are known to exist.

I agree. ISIS is a spike off the curve. They need to be totally eradicated and I can think of no other group like them. These 13 or so "surgical strikes" won't do the job. I believe Obama is very reluctant to kill his fellow Muslims. Our carriers in the area can project so much more power and that power need to be unleashed. ISIS now has an OFFICE in the U.S. I think that definitely needs to be destroyed.

An over simplification, but religion needs to be treated like ones hands, keep them off other people, unless asked.

Your example of using ISIS as a reference towards religion is poor taste. I'm not a religious man and respect those that are, but will never condone the use of these murdering hypocrites to make my point. Fuck ISIS and their views towards any one. What gives them the right? Just sayin'

I prefer a secular government however, everyone is free to choose their beliefs. When a belief poses a threat, and is being acted upon, and it interferes with national safety, human rights, and discrimination, then it becomes a problem.

There should be an "This is a divisive question" option
I was not aware that ISIS had publish a statement about RP at all.
Please cite the reference.

The point is while, I am not expecting everyone to believe what I believe. I seldom discuss religion on here. However, after reading the 12th post against those who witness to others. If you are an atheist fine but don't ask to silence those who do believe. Also all religious doctrines differ so don't lump them together.

So provocative yes but I meant it to be so.

For example knocking the Sheikh and comparing them to Muslims. I have friends from all faiths including atheism. The US of A was founded on the principal of free worship. Some take license with the separations clause and seek to abolish symbols.

God bless everyone.

Yes .. and others see the separation clause a reasons to discriminate based on strongly held religious beliefs.

Cpt, I have no idea, what if any religion you ally to, but I do believe that throughout history religion has been one thing that makes people go crazy. To have a world where we just excepted loving and peace loving religions living side by side with peace and harmony just is not going to happen?

Religion is not the cause, it may be used as a justification but not always. People say as you did as if it is historical fact but it is not. Nazi's did not follow a religion. Stalin was an atheist.

People have been killing each other for a very long time. Religion may be used as vessel to keep followers in line but for those calling the shots, it is all about power.
