Worked with several over my career. Also worked with several Jews, Mormons, and Buddhists. Not an issue at all. Why would it be?

The problem is more one of PC - when it is more concerned with feelings than it is with OPSEC. It should be remembered that Maj. Hassan's views had been noted by his superiors and his fellow soldiers for well over a year before his attack - but nobody was willing to take action for fear of offending the PC police.

Anybody else advocating for the terrorists would have been drummed out of the service - not promoted as was Maj. Hassan.

No religion should be a sufficient reason to allow treasonous behavior to go unanswered.

Back to an earlier religious debate, it does not matter. There is a time and a place for faith and do not espouse Christian teachings and thought at work nor should anyone else.

I don't think any muslim soldier would have an issue working with another muslim soldier. One could ask if a non-muslim soldier might have a problem working with a soldier who was a muslim, but that's another issue.

Shouldn't be an issue. An important issue is that if you see that individual is expressing extremist, anti American or Anti- Military Rhetoric you shouldnt be afraid to approach your command, this can be from any type of group. Racists and Anarchists should be reported as well when they start making threats.

I did not consider the religion of anyone I served with to be an issue. I don't remember even knowing what religion my fellow workers were unless they made a point of it. If someone tried to make it an issue I would dismiss it.

There was only one time serving with a Muslim made us nervous. We were on ship heading to the gulf in 2003 for obvious reasons. The Marine all of a sudden became a conscious objector and refused to fight his own people. He was acting very strange and separated at that time. No one was even thinking about him being Muslim until he started acting funny. We can't start pointing fingers at a single religion. Next thing you know we will have detention centers like we did in WW2 for Americans who happened to be Japanese decent.

If I was still in it would be an issue if he/she were slackers, didn't do their job, screwed up. Other than not following orders, working as a team member supporting the mission - I could care less what their religious preference is.

As long as it doesn't interfere with our mission, I could care less if someone is muslim, Christian, jew, wican, jedi, believe in rocks or whatever.

I cannot say from experience that I have ever had a bad experience with any Soldier/Military member regardless of their race, beliefs or ethnicity. Just as there are 'bad' Americans, there are bound to be a few 'bad' Muslims. You cannot fully judge an entire race based on a few bad eggs. If that was the case, there would not be a single person who could possibly get along with another. Again, just my own opinion.

If you have an issue with a fellow Soldier because of their religion, absent any performance issues, I have a problem with you, regardless of your rank. Keep it to yourself, because if you call it out here, I will call you out, and you will get your feelings hurt. If you outrank me, and are butthurt, I'll gladly provide you with my commander's phone number. BTW, I'm an EOLC graduate....
