From what we've been told (which isn't that much honestly), Bergdahl left his assigned post without orders and was captured...leading to the deaths of members of his unit seeking to recover him. His version of events is that he left the FOB with intentions of walking to another nearby installation...presumably to garner attention for some beef he had with policy. That sounds like a wacko activist...not a coward. Of the two, I think I could cut the coward more slack. To me, he's just another example of what all of the politicizing of military service has done to discipline, morale and combat effectiveness.

Why does the red badge of courage keep coming to me. How would that be written know with Bergdahl? He leaves everything behind to hike 19 miles to whine about his situation. Does anyone believe that? Maybe Obama.
