Is there love at first site, instant attraction? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-there-love-at-first-site-instant-attraction <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sometimes my mind drifts to the past and often the events are not good or they are good. During the course of your life did you find love at first sight, or found an instant attraction not based on sex but based on a smile, words, the way they light up when they see you, the way you light up when you see them. But the timing or circumstances are wrong like rank, marriage, and other commitments. I miss them and my mind is cruel by reminding me of them and wondered how the years have faired. I think about what could have been. I have told a couple subordinate females they were forbidden fruit to get the message across, but I still think of them. I guess I just want some validation that old sentimental fools think this way or not. I don&#39;t know about love at first sight, but it was close. She is my fairy tale ending. I met my wife passing each other coming and going to the bathroom at a restaurant that both of us wasn&#39;t even supposed to be at that day. We bumped into each other, both said sorry and excuse me. Later after I finished my meal, I went to her table and asked her out and we have been together ever since and that was 12 years ago last month. I don&#39;t remember meeting my wife, since we grew up together. Our parents were friends and I&#39;ve know here since I was 2 years old. In fact somewhere I have a photo of us playing together when I was that age. I took shining to her when I was a young teenager, and of course our parents weren&#39;t to fond of the matter. We dated through my teen years. Long story short when I was nineteen, I decided I either had to break it off or marry her. Against almost every person&#39;s advice, we married. That was 9 years ago last July. I was very nervous about it, but I decided that I have no way of knowing the future, or if I would regret marrying her. But I knew that if I broke up with her, I&#39;d think about her for the rest of my life. I would wonder, &quot;what if.&quot; Even as a snot nosed kid, I knew that much about myself. I&#39;m not a very romantic guy, I like to think of myself as a realist. I allow if we hadn&#39;t married, by now I&#39;d found some other gal, and be more or less happy, but I&#39;d always wonder, what if I was with my sweetheart?&quot; I don&#39;t wonder. I married her. LOL! When I was 12-14, yes - in fact, I thought it about every single girl that walked by! My story is *I* felt like that, but none of the girls I dated did! (yes, I'm well aware of the common denominator!) Then my brother started dating this girl - her and I became best friends while they dated! (no - nothing funny ever happened, just take it literally). Well, it was about 6 mo after they broke up - we remained friends thru the whole thing - I kissed her one Sat night (we were both 19). We went to church on Sun the following morning and got married a few months later. That was 33 years ago on a Fri, the 13th of Aug - 1982.
