Im active duty and for personal reasons I want to be close to home. Is there away to go through green to gold and get National Guard or Reserves instead of active duty? <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The applications states that the program has a Active Duty Service Obligation of three years as a Commissioned Officer, so my experience says no. Green to Gold is a ROTC program, I would contact the ROTC at the school you plan to attend and ask them that question.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You don&#39;t get active duty going green to Gold. In fact, it&#39;s very competitive and only the top performers receive an AD commission. There are three different G2G programs, you aren&#39;t even eligible to apply for the active duty option one without 60 SH of college, and it&#39;s very competitive.
