SGT Joseph Gunderson3237832<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Every day we are assaulted with numerous different stories from various news sources and social media outlets. From the murder of police officers, sex scandals in the government or Hollywood, or yet another crash or accident involving a military vehicle that resulted in the deaths of service members. Is there any kind of story (i.e. sex scandal, shooting, stolen valor, etc) that you don't even bother to read about anymore because it seems like almost a waste of time or just too overwhelming because of how often it happens? Is there anything that you have seen in the news or read on the internet so many times that you don't even care about it anymore?2018-01-08T12:32:08-05:00SGT Joseph Gunderson3237832<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Every day we are assaulted with numerous different stories from various news sources and social media outlets. Once the media started reporting things like his Diet Coke habit, extra ice cream scoop, or putting ketchup on his steaks, they lost me. I was already pretty close due to their normal hypocrisy, but this was the final straw. A close second is "Global Warming" or climate change. For those of us that think global warming is a natural occurrence AND can be exacerbated by humans, there are no "news" stories for us. Like most media, it feeds the extremes.Response by PO1 Don Gulizia made Jan 8 at 2018 12:46 PM2018-01-08T12:46:39-05:002018-01-08T12:46:39-05:00Lt Col Jim Coe3237911<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Stories I generally ignore:<br />-Pres Trump stole the 2016 election with the help of the Russians<br />-Pres Trump is crazy and unfit to be President<br />-Impeach Trump<br />-Obamacare is great<br />-Pres Trump is going to nuke [fill in the blank]<br />-Guns are evil. The endless barrage of nit-picking about Trump's personal habits and tweets are not newsworthy, and have worn out their welcome. Anything relating to policy and the impact still are relevant, but the media likes to cobble it all together with his persona. They are failing in their journalistic duty when they do this, because the public can't differentiate between the two areas, and are tuning out things they should not.Response by CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 8 at 2018 12:54 PM2018-01-08T12:54:30-05:002018-01-08T12:54:30-05:00LT Brad McInnis3238062<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anything with a poll in it. Don't care what it is... If we learned nothing from the last political cycle, poll methodology is either a) wrong, or b) maliciously manipulated. The very 1st thing my Probability and Statistics professor said in college was :"The only thing you need to know about statistics is what answer do you want?"Response by LT Brad McInnis made Jan 8 at 2018 1:37 PM2018-01-08T13:37:59-05:002018-01-08T13:37:59-05:002018-01-08T12:32:08-05:00
