I'm interested in commissioning as an officer in the Air Force but am 2 years short of a Bachelor's degree. Are there any waivers I don't know about so I can fast track? Is there any way to fast track a commission for a prior service with some college?2020-10-09T14:59:44-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6386856<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I served 3 years in the Army and have been out since May. AFROTC would help get you in the pipeline.Response by SSgt Christophe Murphy made Oct 9 at 2020 3:03 PM2020-10-09T15:03:36-04:002020-10-09T15:03:36-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member6386864<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>no. you need a 4 year degree to commission.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 9 at 2020 3:10 PM2020-10-09T15:10:29-04:002020-10-09T15:10:29-04:00CPT Lawrence Cable6387001<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As prior service, you can skip the first two years of ROTC, or at least you can on the Army side of things, join in your Junior Year, go to Advance Camp between your Junior and Senior Year, and Commission when you graduate. It still requires a 4 year degree to commission and this would be the easiest route.<br />If you chose that route, a couple of other programs I would recommend. One, enlist in the National Guard or Reserve and go to ROTC in the Simultaneous Membership Program. Most states have additional educational benefits for the National Guard, you get paid as an E5 for Drill, it lets you get experience doing Officer stuff, and from the additional money side, you won't lose any Time in Service for pay, which means Commission maxing out the O-1 pay scale. Being a member of the Guard or Reserve does not affect your ability to take an Active Commission as long as you don't accept a Guaranteed Reserve Force scholarship and make the cut. <br />I would call the Air Force ROTC program at the University of your choice and talk to them if you think this route would work for you.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made Oct 9 at 2020 4:18 PM2020-10-09T16:18:37-04:002020-10-09T16:18:37-04:00SFC Carlos Gamino6388019<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Look into the USANG.Response by SFC Carlos Gamino made Oct 9 at 2020 11:45 PM2020-10-09T23:45:44-04:002020-10-09T23:45:44-04:002020-10-09T14:59:44-04:00
