Is there any way that I can pcs to another post before my contract is up?

We are stationed at Fort Bliss and my family is having a hard time adjusting to being so far from home. Is there any way we can pcs to a closer base before my time is up besides reenlisting or just getting out all together? I still have 2 years left here.

You need to contact your branch manager and see what option he provides. One posible course of action would be to request a Korea assignment (one year tour) while your family stay at their home of records. Then request a follow up assigned. High probability for the later but not 100% guaranteed.

The short answer is only through a compassionate reassignment. DOD requires a 2 year SRR from your report date to a new assignment, which you would need to reenlist to meet. In addition there is a 2 year on station rule for reenlisting to a new duty assignment and 3 year TOS for branch moving you. Also, there's the prohibition against 11B branch moving you BCT to BCT. Your BM will just tell you to reenlist for your next duty station.
