Someone re-enlisted, signed the contract...did the oath and all....and now wants out of that re-enlistment? Good luck to that person.

Sure.
Don't reenlist.

Now, if you mean that you've already signed your contract, can you think of some other legally binding contract you sign that you're allowed to walk away from without any impact? The whole purpose of a contract between two parties is to bind two parties to an agreement and protect the other party if one of them attempts to reneg.

Let me get this straight... you re-enlisted and now you regret it, right?

If that’s the case allow me to break your heart: No, there is no way unless you get discharged under some sort of negative issues. Potentially detrimental for your civilian life!!!!!!

If the case is that your re-up window is open and you don’t feel like re-upping, then there is no harm or shame on walking away with your head up after honorably service!

Dig deep and take every day seriously. If you are experiencing mental health issues from deployment, I encourage you to make sure to check in with mental health. I know deployment can be hard on people and if what you experienced while deployed is affecting you, take care of it before it gets out of hand. Do NOT let it affect your career in the military, especially since you've obligated yourself for several years. Believe it or not, the Army will help you if you decide to help yourself. Quitting is not always the right answer. Especially when you have to look at yourself in the mirror after you do.

So you re-enlisted for 6 years and now you are having buyers remorse? Sorry but you voluntarily re-enlisted, signed on the dotted line and swore an oath. There is no getting out of that with a good outcome for you.

It is only 6 years. Take it a day at a time. It will get better and you will be done with it before you know it.

Have you considered re-classing to a different MOS?
If you change your view of the situation and get the military to work for you you can put your reenlistment to good use.

Have you talked to your career counselor? Has he finished the paperwork? Did he hang on to the paperwork to file in February? Check and see if the paperwork has left Battalion. Talk to your chaplain and mental health. There is a way to fix it without it hurting your future but you are going to have to work your third point of contact to fix it. Under no circumstance do you want to take a chapter. Honorable discharge, nothing less.
