Is there a way to block the political posts?

Nothing against anyone or their opinions, but all the feed is showing is a stream of political posts. What are my options to overcome this as it is going to be a long year?

CPT Mark Gonzalez At the bottom of each post on the right hand side are three gray dots click on it and select hide post. Then you will not see it again.

Hi,

I checked out your profile on the backend and unfortunately it looks like you have engaged a lot in topics related to politics and elections, which is why RallyPoint is showing you more content related to those topics. In general members see more content based on what they engage with. However, there is something you can do even now...

RallyPoint recently introduced the option to "unfollow" certain people. Currently you can only do this on desktop by going to their profile and clicking on the 3 dots below the Connect/Message button (see attached image). We will roll this option out in the near future on mobile. Unfollowing has no effect on your relationship with a member and they get no notification, but the content they create will be less prominent in your feeds. If it's tagged politics though you are still likely to see it. Later this year we will roll out a feature where you can choose to see less of a certain topic. For now, unfollowing certain members who post a lot of political content will help, as well as simply ignoring the content (you will see less of them that way).

I agree and also wish there was a way to direct all posts with political-related comments or topics to the 'Politics' thread straight off. Don't like to block someone because everyone has a lot of good things to say other than politics and I want to be able to read and respond as appropriate. Putting things like politics, religion and sex in the general interest feed is clogging up the system. If there was a way I could direct any response or post of mine to the politics thread I would be the first to do so. It is going to be a long time until November and things are only going to get worse.. Thanks for any insights.

Good question. Partially a reason why I check RP a lot. Problem is, what would count as politics. Could be a lot grey territory for filtering.

I am not against the political posts but I have seen too many in forums/groups that are not politically related. That is what drives me crazy.

I asked about that. Answer was I could delete my account. At least on Facebook one can truly delete material and people they do not like. Some genius thought that because we're all military, we'll all get along like long-lost cousins. Yep, uh huh!!!

It'd be tedious to block all the posts brother. Do what I do and engage in the ones that interest you and ignoring the rest.

Just ignore them. Election years are terrible for friendships and alliances, particularly for those who take it personally. I know who I am voting for, and against. It is best though, not to join in yelling matches about who's candidates better. Keep professional.
