Is there a way for the moderators to prevent accidental profile views?

Myself, as well as others sometimes accidentally click on someones profile inadvertently. It would be good if there were a second layer of consent, such as a popup asking you if you intend to view a profile. I am sure 90% of the time the answer would be no.

I think that would be a good idea because one it would avoid wasting your time, but also if you don't feel like having everyone know your branch or etc. it can protect your privacy, but there is also a hidden fault to this where say I found someone from my unit or etc. and we have deployed and are best of friends it makes the task a little more prolonged for no reason just to connect, if we are giving a option of turning it off and on I think that would be a good thing as for inadvertently selecting it.. slow down and watch where you click 9/10 times it is user error.

I have done the same thing a number of times when I clicked on a name hoping to find an email, even knowing there wasn't one to be found. Instead the profile always pops up which is awkward esp if I have already viewed the person's profile some time before. Maybe a quick refresher on how to contact someone either by IM or email w/o opening their profile page would be helpful.

Actually it's interesting you ask that, i did mention and ask about that on here awhile back, I'd noticed the same thing obviously, it's of course good you also noticed it as well, it actually happens using the tablet I'm on quite frequently, unfortunately, LCD touch screens clearly tend to do that, I'm afraid, hope that was useful, many thanks.

I'll bet it's technically possible, but it seems way unnecessary to me. People click my profile and I don't think they're stalking me or find it unsettling in the least. I just keep moving along, soldiering on. And I've clicked a profile or two by accident. Again, I mean no harm. That's what RP is all about, connecting with other vets and military members. There you have it: my two cents.

I have a tendency to scan all kinds of profiles. Often it is purely a matter of looking to see who I am talking to. Heck, I don't mind giving someone credit for a profile view. As a matter of fact, I'll go peak at yours right now.

Happens a lot when you scroll down to the bottom to 'back to questions' and there is about a 3 second lag, as you click 'back to questions' the 3 second lag lapses as more responses are loaded and the click goes on someone's profile instead of back to questions.

Banning the Profile view is petty and childish.
If you are that concerned about what people know about you, find a realtor to show you some rocks to climb under and wait for the world to disintegrate
