They should be able to readily cite the regulations and policies regarding a Soldier's tour extension related to transition should one exist. The S-1 should also be able to assist with this question since it is an administrative function.Response by SFC Brian Bourque made Aug 5 at 2016 5:51 AM2016-08-05T05:51:32-04:002016-08-05T05:51:32-04:00SGT David T.1780543<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It depends on the time remaining on their contract. When I first got to Korea I was planning on ETSing, but I had 13 months left in the service. Had I ETSed, I would have had to stay in Korea past the one year mark. I don't remember the time I needed to have left to DEROS back for ETS.Response by SGT David T. made Aug 5 at 2016 7:36 AM2016-08-05T07:36:57-04:002016-08-05T07:36:57-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1780748<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This is correct. The Army will not PCS you if you have less than a year remaining on your contract.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 5 at 2016 9:24 AM2016-08-05T09:24:41-04:002016-08-05T09:24:41-04:00SSG Kristopher Rigdon1782031<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yep it's true.Response by SSG Kristopher Rigdon made Aug 5 at 2016 3:57 PM2016-08-05T15:57:18-04:002016-08-05T15:57:18-04:00CPL Deanna Green (Parkinson)1794087<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes,, true! You have been deployed! That means you stay, until the Army say you go! My ETS date was extended a couple of times due to deployments, and needs of the Army. Of course there are always extenuating circumstances.Response by CPL Deanna Green (Parkinson) made Aug 10 at 2016 9:23 AM2016-08-10T09:23:26-04:002016-08-10T09:23:26-04:00SSG Kristopher Rigdon1830319<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Before the army started separating SM from Korea. You would stay in Korea then PCS'ed state side to ACAP even if it took you past your ETS. forcing you to extend your contract.Response by SSG Kristopher Rigdon made Aug 23 at 2016 3:25 PM2016-08-23T15:25:03-04:002016-08-23T15:25:03-04:002016-08-05T04:25:59-04:00
