Is there a place besides my iPerms or OMPF file where I can locate old copies (2003-2004) of USAR (TPU) deployment orders? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-there-a-place-besides-my-iperms-or-ompf-file-where-i-can-locate-old-copies-2003-2004-of-usar-tpu-deployment-orders

I deployed to Iraq in 2003-2004 as a TPU reservist while I was still enlisted. I was based out of Baghdad, but I often flew back and forth to Kuwait to "pallet ride" materials for the PsyOp unit I was in. All of my awards and NCOERs from that time period indicate that I was based in Iraq, but my DD214 says Iraq/Kuwait. At the time I didn't really think much of it. I've lost track of most of the people from that time period but the one person I was able to track down said their DD214 only has Iraq listed.

Fast forward 16-17 years and I'm trying to get my ORB squared away. It's pretty much good to go with the exception of the deployment/overseas assignment history. When I tried to get it updated to show my Iraq deployment (none of my deployments transferred over from my ERB) I was told that since my DD214 says Iraq/Kuwait it can't be listed as Iraq and the system won't allow two countries to be listed for the same time period. The only way to change it is apparently with my TCS orders sending me to Iraq.

I'm pretty good at keeping copies of things and I have 5-10 copies of everything the Army has ever given me dating back to 1999, including my orders sending me to basic and my original dot matrix clothing records from CIF. I can find the orders bringing me on AD and the ones sending me home for that time period, but not the ones sending me overseas. My awards and evals from that time period are in my OMPF but no orders. Is there somewhere else I can track them down? When I spoke to our S-1 and they gave me the deer in the head lights look. I'm going to contact the unit I went with but it was so long ago that I don't think they'll still have a copy. Unfortunately, access currently requires a government computer or some kind of remote access to a .mil domain.

IIS 8.5 Detailed Error - 404.11 - Not Found

CPT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 25 May 2020 21:17:32 -0400 2020-05-25T21:17:32-04:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 25 at 2020 11:02 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-there-a-place-besides-my-iperms-or-ompf-file-where-i-can-locate-old-copies-2003-2004-of-usar-tpu-deployment-orders?n=5935472&urlhash=5935472

You probably won’t get a copy of them unless you manage to find someone on the same orders who has a copy of them. The Reserve Component are not particularly known for their awesome admin track records, and that time frame was before a lot of the automated systems we now use were implemented. Uploading orders to iPerms automatically is a pretty recent requirement and your orders from that time period would only be on there if you personally took them to your S1 and requested to have them uploaded. The old unit won’t have a copy either because Army Records Management regulations require old records to be destroyed after so long.
If it is very important to you, you can use your LESs from that time period, they will show the country code for your combat zone tax exclusion. If you don’t have a copy, then you can request them from DFAS. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 25 May 2020 23:02:40 -0400 2020-05-25T23:02:40-04:00 2020-05-25T15:19:23-04:00
