Romans 8:28
For I know the plans I have for you"--this is the LORD's declaration--"plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
But if not... Daniel 3:18 This one is from a story where three men were about to be put to death for worshipping God. They tell the king who is going to kill them that their God is able to save them. But they realize that God does not have to save them. So they continue that even if God does not save them, they will stay faithful to Him to the end. Those three words serve as a reminder that God can do all things, but should He choose not to save me from something, I will still be faithful.
*This was also the message sent by the trapped British troops to the people back home at Dunkirk. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
He leadeth me besides clear waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his namesake.
