The organization has another purpose and is not related to RallyPoint. It's a local group supporting folks around Joint Base Lewis-McChord who are in transition. I think the name is derived from an Army perspective. Some of the resources they try to connect transitioning military personnel with deal with employment, education, housing, finance, legal, family support, VA Benefits, and health & wellness. "RP/6 is a convening location in the community where the service member, veteran, or family member is connected with community service providers that will assist them on their path forward to the next objective." http://rallypoint6.org/

RP/6 | On the Path Forward

RP/6 specializes in connecting service members, veterans and their families to resources to develop a clear plan for their path forward.

Response by LTC Martin Metz made Aug 18 at 2016 2:43 PM 2016-08-18T14:43:37-04:00 2016-08-18T14:43:37-04:00 MSG Kevin Henry 2100176

Thanks for providing me the opportunity to provide some clarity as an RP/6 Fellow and alumni. RP/6 Inc. is a nonprofit veteran service organization founded by two Army veterans with its headquarters in Lakewood, Washington. RP/6 acts a connector of the military community to vital resources in the areas of employment, education, benefits, housing, family support, wellness, financial counseling, legal referrals, and volunteerism. It went through a few names during its formation; however, when the doors opened for its grand opening in 2014, it was as RallyPoint 6. To skip the long story, at some point in 2015 it was re-branded to RP/6 to de-conflict with RallyPoint. In 2015, RP/6 formed a partnership with the USO, and to date they have established 11 USO RP/6 Transition Centers (Colorado Springs, Fort Campbell, Fort Hood, San Antonio, Norfolk, Las Vegas, Fort Drum, Fort Riley, Fort Sill, El Paso) with more to come in 2017. This month, it was announced that in 2017, RP/6 will join the USO and become the Center of Excellence for the programming and innovation that the USO will set forth to benefit transitioning service members and their families across the world. The company is a professional network serving the US military and its veterans, and has been called "LinkedIn for the military," empowering military personnel to take greater control over their own careers. The community allows current military members and veterans to connect, explore career opportunities both inside and outside the military, and engage on topics important to the military.
