Is the refugee crisis in Europe a prelude to fascism? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-the-refugee-crisis-in-europe-a-prelude-to-fascism

My thought is as follows; an increasing number of Europeans don't want large numbers of Muslims allowed into their countries but it would appear that their political leadership is trying to force the issue. To me, this creates a huge number of potential problems. Firstly, a people that view their own government as no longer representing their interests but actively working against them is going to be unhappy. Moreover, I could easily see this causing both a spike in welfare spending and increases in unemployment, especially amongst lower-skilled Europeans.

Situations like this are ripe for a rise in xenophobia and violence which is only made worse by the likelihood of terrorists slipping in amongst the migrants. That type of violence is tailor made for everything from far right extremism to revolution. The Jews were a convenient scapegoat to Hitler and I could see these migrants turning into the same in much of Europe, if not constituting a real and legitimate threat to some of these nations. The United States can't really grasp the notion, but usually when your countries are smashed into oblivion by your neighbors you tend to watch very closely with what's going on in your country.

I'm willing to predict many not so good things happening, like these refugees will begin demanding liberties and protest in the streets and it will create racial tensions and quickly after religious ones. Full scale war? Doubtful.... Martial Law? Absolutely. It won't end until a Muslim is the next German Chancellor, or President of France, even then it will not end- in fact the roles may very well reverse. Many might see this as a good thing many might see it as a bad thing. I'm just stating the facts.
