Is the coining of the term 'alt-right' an attempt to associate racist organizations with all conservatives?

I'm seeing it used more and more. It originally referred to white nationalists, but is now being used for fringe groups like the KKK.

"Alt + Right" is the command to go back or forward a page in my internet browser. My browser is not racist.

I like your style.
Psst "White Nationalists" are a fringe group. It's definitely a label thrown out to taint all conservatives the fact is that there isn't an "Alt Right Party". There is no membership or cards or a chairperson. The media can create the label, dub a prominent conservative as the leader or spokesperson and have a "basket of deplorables" as charter members.
It's another attempt of media to divide the country into two camps, and frankly I'm sick to death of it on both ends.
El Chapo Guzman. the murderous drug dealer now awaiting extradition to the US Threatened Donald Trump and had his minions tweet his displeasure with the election. Does that mean the Mexican Drug Cartels are part of the Democratic party? No. People need to stop listening to labels put out by the media and start using their heads for something else than to mark the spot about three feet above their ass.

Both??? It's not both sides. It is only the side of the Left that is acting this way. They are the Real Hate mongers, Racist, Bigots, Intolerants, Murderers, Anti-American, Double Standard Hypocrites, Sexist, Violents Terrorists, Destroyers of the Constitution.
They don't want equality for people, they want preferential treatment for people to soothe their internal feelings of guilt.
They also call us Nazis and Fascists, when it's really their actions that exude these characteristics. So easily duped by the MainSheepMedia.

It's an attempt to label people who do not agree with the Democratic party and the New Age of double speak.
Their all Nazi's, their all homophobes....
In fact, those who believe in legal immigration, living and let live and small government are Nationalist. Just not nationalist socialist.
The European Union and the Democratic party show more parallels with the Nazi platform of the State as god, a large central government and power for a few. But, low information voters can not read history. They are also most likely to react based on emotion. They are easy to upset.

"Live and let live" is not remotely what those people stand for. Nor is it the stance of the administration they just elected. Mike Pence's head would explode at the notion.

Alt right isn't a term created by the left to tie conservatives to white supremicists. It's a term created by the extreme far right to try and make their racist, white nationalist ideas seem more mainstream and obscure who they really are.

The "lable maker" was the founder of the movement, so trying to blame the "label makers " is a bit sad,

A tactic right out of Alinski's Rules for Radicals. If they want to make PROGRESS, they need an organization like Media Matters and Thinkprogress.

Yes, agree it has become more widespread, and the far-left and some media are using it as yet another slander word against conservatives. From an IO perspective, it has been successful.

I found this to be a broad description and will say that by associating, integrating and push the agenda of white nationalist and other racist groups they themselves have been the reason for the association: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt-right?wprov=sfsi1
The alt-right is a loose group of people with far right ideologies who reject mainstream conservatism in the United States.[1][2] The alt-right has no formal ideology, although various sources have stated that white nationalism is fundamental.[1][2][3] It has also been associated with white supremacism,[4][5][6] Islamophobia,[7][8][9][10] antifeminism,[1][11] homophobia,[12][13][14] antisemitism,[1][2][15] ethno-nationalism,[16] right-wing...

Sarge, thanks for taking the time to post all the links. I'll check them out, and appreciate your hard work to inform me (us). I won't respond to each one, however. Sorta overkill if I did lol.

SN Greg Wright - LOL no prob. I wanted to be sure I covered my bases, but I do agree that lumping all into one because of association detracts from the real purpose individually. Plus I had a few minutes to spare :)

Alt-right, what about Alt-reality? A fellow poster on a blog used the term Alt-reality to discribe those having difficulty understanding Trump won! I think it describes the news media perfectly!
