<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I hate to say your recruiter lied to you but.....<br />Cyber is definitely not merging with commo.<br />That being said, while 17C is technically an entry level MOS, if you don&#39;t already have experience or knowledge in programming you&#39;re going to fail. So, if you&#39;re joining to advance your skills, go 17C. If you&#39;re joining to develop new skills, or baby skills, go 25B,you can always switch to 17C down the road.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>25B is an Information Technology Specialist. 17C is a Cyber Operations Specialist. 25 series MOSs are in the Signal Branch. 17 series MOSs are in the Cyber branch. There are some 25 series MOSs that ARE converging (25S &amp; 25P for example). 17c and 25b ARE NOT MERGING. One day farrrr in the future cyber and signal may merge. The closest signal MOS to anything is Cyber is 25D, Cyber Network Defender. Last I read, It is only available to SSGs SFCs. <br /><br />Good job seeking more references for information! Keep doing research, don’t “settle” when enlisting. Get what you want balanced with what you CAN do. Good luck.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>We’re not being merged into 25Bs. Our jobs are completely different and we’re a completely different branch. If you want to be a 17C I highly recommend doing it. It’s a great job to have.
