The cable isn't worth it here. My little girls can watch their American shows as needed... With those services, they can have days of picking up their shows and many more days not watching anything!

I keep catching myself telling 'back in my day' stories about having five Chanels total with a little brother who had to hold the rabbit ears in place... I don't think they'll ever understand MSG Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 13 Aug 2016 05:26:26 -0400 2016-08-13T05:26:26-04:00 Response by PFC Caleb Gooden made Aug 13 at 2016 6:38 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-streaming-tv-and-movies-as-popular-as-everyone-lets-on-is-it-legal-what-s-your-favorite-service?n=1802565&urlhash=1802565

Streaming services are useful, especially overseas, the only problem I have with them is that they don't carry everything, which I can understand. Their servers can only handle so much. Now I'm in no way condoning this but pirating is essentially the free and international version of Netflix. Find movies, maybe in different languages if you're studying for a language course, as well as useful software, and "morale" videos. Useful for trading overseas.

Now to properly answer your question: Traditional television is dying out, slowly but surely. The internet is replacing it because from a computer you can do anything. You can fill out tax returns while watching an entire season of NCIS if you want to. The computer is multi functional and if you hook it up properly, you can use a wireless mouse and keyboard and sit on your couch with your computer hooked up to your TV via HDMI and watch whatever you want or even use Microsoft Word to fill out a paper for college. It's even easier if you hook up a device with ChromeCast. You can watch sports games live online because they stream at the same time as the game would on TV, your family can watch Netflix and it's easier to set up parental controls on a computer than it is on a TV. The long and short of it is, with cable packages, you're essentially paying twice for the same stuff because whatever you watch on TV can be found and watched whenever you want to with a computer and an internet connection.
