In this report, there is a link to the demands0. Demands in which they held a meeting hostage until they were heard.
For example, "Our aspirations are untainted: free tuition via a University open to all, abolition of the police and prisons, free and collectivized housing and food, and more." While it has socialistic overtones, the abolition of Police and Prisons are the complete opposite of a Socialistic society. It's necessary for Police and prisons to keep the dissidents in check.

"Kids will be kids", right! When they're in elementary, middle or high school, then they're kids. When there in college and act that way, they walk a "thin line", their naïveté gets them into serious trouble, they don't act with responsibility or feel the consequences of their actions. IF they graduate hopefully they find out that "free" isn't "free" besides their student loans they also have an 18 trillion dollar bill they have to pay.

I am not sure I would title it socialism, but would agree on "entitled". I firmly believe (and don't call me a damned racist) that until black family values change, there is little to be done.

CPT Ahmed Faried -
Skipper, I would present that if these traits of differential treatment are so prevalent, why does the black community refuse do something to change the behaviors that are being over arrested, fatal and non-fatal violence, suspended from school, etc. I understand that wrong is wrong, we have conversed in the past about this. I do not believe anyone has a right to interrupt my studies, yes I am a senior at UW-Madison, for their protest. No one has that right. By now it should be pretty obvious that the rest of the world will not change to suit the black community, perhaps the black community should explore changing their attitudes and behaviors. I read somewhere that if "it doesn't work for you, don't keep doing it".

Socialism? You mean like Social Security? The 40 hour work week? The minimum wage? Those are all socialist.

Capt Walter Miller - It make sense, it is always a balance between all ideas and concepts.
For first, social security was suppose to be funded by each individual, so technically it is not socialism (yet). Second, 40hr work week and minimum wages are still not forcing employer to take care of their employees, so it is not socialism(yet).
socialism is government redistribute "wealth". You can't use "benefit all" as a bases for socialism. :)
All three examples, they are regulated "not so free market" concept. :) It is still not yet into the realm of distributing wealth yet.

PO3 (Join to see) - Alrighty. But those programs are still telling individuals - here is something you MUST do. That makes them 'social.'
What I am saying is that people shouldn't throw up their hands at government programs just because someone else levies the title of 'socialism!' on them.

This is the issue. The term is being used incorrectly to get these socialists in office. Do no confuse social services with socialism. Socialism is a system of government without free markets....NOT a government with good social programs.
